Wow.. it reminds me of my own childhood when I began schooling . I used to study in Bishop Conrad School ,Bareilly ,UP,India .It was a Missionary school.We had huge playground and courts where we can play all sorts of sports.We had calendar set for annual extra-curricular activities.We had teachers who were committed to not only teach the subject but also take care of our personality shaping .
The reason I said Wow in the beginning is my child was also fortunate enough to get into such kind of school recently .
But not every child in India have such privilege.The people are so poverty struck that even in towns ,let aside, rural areas , the children are forced to work and pool in for family income . These children generally have meals only 2 times and don't get basic nutrition and hygiene .They grow up thinking only of roti, kapada and makaan .They can be easily lured to loot, rape and even kill .This is what is happening in NCR these days .
We all know that the government is doing what is required for the poor children , but since India is a very large country , the efforts are not effective . We need more NGOs to work with local people ,address their issues , get their children complete their basic education till 8th standard and direct them to the fields in which they want to excel.
India has produced masterminds like Vishwanathan Anand and I am sure that there is much more potential to be tapped here .Like China we can also collect maximum Golds in Olympics, like US and Russia we can also lead the world in Space programs. Like Germany we can also deliver automobiles like Mercedes Benz.
